Inland Kenworth WIns the KCOHL Trophy More News

After two hard fought semi final games in which both teams needed overtime to defeat their opponents. Genex Marketing and Inland Kenworth played a fast paced (for us) and entertaining final game. Genex jumped out to an early lead in the first period, with Inland making little inroads during the first frame.

A penalty laden second period saw each team take advantage of the power play and score, however at the end of regulation time the score was still tied and a 5 minute over time was required.  With only seconds remaining Jake Blackmore was able to score the winner resulting in Inland Kenworth defeating Genex Marketing and claiming the KCOHL trophy (And the coveted flasks) for the 2016-17 season.

In what could be his last game as a member of the KCOHL, Barry Mechalchuk, in speaking about the game and the  loss was quoted as "Pass me a beer will you?"

Thanks to all for a great season, special thanks to everyone who has helped out with organizing the events, JJ, Swirsky, Wilf Davis, Bill and Linda Smith. An especially huge thanks to the VP of the league Brandon Cavener and Wayne Walmsley without both of these two gentlemen the league wouldn't be what it is today.

The Golf Tourney is scheduled for May 27th at the Cranbrook Golf Course. Details will be sent out and also posted to the website.
