AGM & SEASON UPDATE FOR 2020/21 More News

Hello Guys!  As most of you know we held our AGM last night which saw a nice turnout by both the member and executive committees. Several topics were discussed but none more important than whether or not to start a new season during this Covid-19 pandemic. I finally did receive an email from the City explaining the guidelines for hockey in Cranbrook until at least the end of 2020. I have attached a link to this email for all to read below. Long story short is that due to both Via Sport's phase 3 guidelines and the City's decision not to allow use of the dressing rooms or showers, we unanimously decided to postpone the start of the 2020/21 season until at least the end of December. Upon that time we will meet again to see if the restrictions loosen up enough to allow for a second half or so called shortened season. I know this is not the news you wanted to hear but for now there are just too many risks and restrictions that will not allow the KCOHL to function in a normal capacity. I appreciate everyone's patience and support during these unusual circumstances.

On a positive note, due to the sudden end of last season which saw the cancellation of our year end tournament, banquet and the famous KCOHL golf tourney we do have some extra funds that will top up our annual charitable donations for the year. We usually support a couple local charities and I am asking you to reply with some of your suggestions and thoughts via return email. The executive will then make a final decision at the December meeting.

Feel free to contact me via email or text with any questions or concerns you may have. Please stay safe out there and I know the KCOHL will be stronger than ever once this is over!!

Thanks again for your support.
