Hello Boys, I hope you and your families are doing well and staying safe. As we still face some challenges ahead with the pandemic, I am hopeful we will be able to resume hockey again this fall. Even as frustrating as it has been not playing this season, it gives me great pleasure to report on our latest charitable donations handed out last month which were the most ever by the KCOHL. As you know I surveyed the league before Christmas on whether to contribute the balance of all beer funds to charity and as expected you guys voted unanimously favoring that idea. I am happy to inform you that we were able to add an additional $2250.00 to our already generous donation total. Wow! Our goal has always been focused on supporting local charities that can reach the most amount of vulnerable people in our community, and this year was no exception. So without further due I am thrilled to announce that he KCOHL was able to donate a total of $18,750 to local charities. I want to thank Kevin Doll for helping deliver these donations and providing the below links to the organizations you supported. I know these donations could not come at a better time when many are dealing with varying hardships due to Covid-19. Again, click below the links to see who your donation dollars are benefiting.

  1. Cranbrook Food Bank Society - $5000 http://www.cranbrookfoodbank.ca/

Hello guys! Hope you all are doing well and staying safe out there. Looks like the second wave is upon us and I just wanted to touch base on a few things before the holidays. As you know we would be gearing for the annual Food Bank charity drive which obviously won't be taking place this year. Our plan as we discussed at the AGM was to still make a couple of substantial donations before the end of the year and I feel the Food bank is a no brainer especially under the circumstances. My question to you all is regarding the outstanding beer fund money sitting around in the coolers and whether you agree to top up the leagues contributions and donate it all to charity as well?  It seems like the logical thing to do since we are unable to enjoy it with our fellow teammates. I will start a short online survey on the website to make sure we are all on the same page. If unanimous I would appreciate the beer guys from each team to email me at kcohl@outlook.com so we can make a plan on transferring the funds. Within the next couple weeks the board will meet to decide this year's charitable amounts and the recipients right in time for the holiday season when our community can use it the most! Please be sure to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns with anything regarding the KCOHL.

Thank you very much and I wish you and yours a very safe and Happy Holiday season!!

Hello Guys!  As most of you know we held our AGM last night which saw a nice turnout by both the member and executive committees. Several topics were discussed but none more important than whether or not to start a new season during this Covid-19 pandemic. I finally did receive an email from the City explaining the guidelines for hockey in Cranbrook until at least the end of 2020. I have attached a link to this email for all to read below. Long story short is that due to both Via Sport's phase 3 guidelines and the City's decision not to allow use of the dressing rooms or showers, we unanimously decided to postpone the start of the 2020/21 season until at least the end of December. Upon that time we will meet again to see if the restrictions loosen up enough to allow for a second half or so called shortened season. I know this is not the news you wanted to hear but for now there are just too many risks and restrictions that will not allow the KCOHL to function in a normal capacity. I appreciate everyone's patience and support during these unusual circumstances.

On a positive note, due to the sudden end of last season which saw the cancellation of our year end tournament, banquet and the famous KCOHL golf tourney we do have some extra funds that will top up our annual charitable donations for the year. We usually support a couple local charities and I am asking you to reply with some of your suggestions and thoughts via return email. The executive will then make a final decision at the December meeting.

Feel free to contact me via email or text with any questions or concerns you may have. Please stay safe out there and I know the KCOHL will be stronger than ever once this is over!!

Thanks again for your support.
